Castle Bingo are committed to delivering excellent service, value and quality across their 11 clubs. All clubs have successfully achieved the British Safety Council Five Star Occupational Health and Safety Audit. Nine of their clubs have a Sword of Honour, a prestigious award which represents the pinnacle of achievement in safety and environmental management. Castle Bingo are now keen to become zero to landfill and increase awareness of recycling at all of their sites.
Castle Bingo operate from 11 sites across the UK and had multiple waste contracts set up at each site for their various waste streams. Having successfully been awarded the Sword of Honour for health, safety, and environmental management, Castle Bingo wanted to improve the level of recycling at each club and work towards Zero to Landfill. Castle Leisure instructed Blue Castle Group to review all costs, site operations and to tender for all waste streams associated with each bingo hall.
In order to establish the clients exact requirements Blue Castle Group conducted a meeting at Castle Leisure’s Head Office to understand the current waste management strategy and research the client’s objectives from engaging with a consultancy.
A desktop analysis was then conducted from a recent batch of invoices supplied by the 11 bingo halls including; General Waste, Mixed Recycling, Cardboard, Food and Glass. As well as prices, Blue Castle Group also reviewed lift frequencies, container types, transport charges and additional charges.
Prior to presenting the tender a Blue Castle representative visited each site and conducted a thorough site audit in order to understand and empathise with the current processes, limitations, opportunities and any site restrictions that could not be identified from the desktop audit.
We presented our findings to the client along with a full tender on a like for like basis, which identified several operational changes that would also be a cost benefit. Alongside the tender, we have produced a strategy in order to roll out services with no disruption to our client. The account was then managed by a dedicated Account Manager Manager in order to deliver savings and handle all administration. In total 10% of annual costs have been saved by introducing Blue Castle, as well as considerable time spent directly dealing with multiple suppliers.
